Quick DIY Fix for Bed-skirts and Curtains

Have a boring bed-skirt?  Or a curtain that's too short?  Here is an easy way to length and/or transform them!

If you have scraps of fabric you just keep for that day, when you might need it...well, here is that day!

I tore scraps of fabric into strips, and using a sewing machine, stitched them unto the front side of this bed-skirt, that was a solid, dark brown color.  You can also use the same fabric, or just two coordinating colors to make strips.   I wanted a mix of colors, patterns and lengths for a more eclectic, colorful look for this bed in our guestroom.
And I still had a plastic bag full of fabric strips!  Guessing how much I need of something, has never been a strong suit.

We have had constant issues with our shower rod not staying where we want it. To "fix" that problem, he set it above the tile, instead of relying on it to stay within the tiled walls.   That worked, but now our curtain was too short,  and you can't find longer ones, usually.  I had found this cute, colorful one on a sale site on Facebook, and remembering my bag of strips...instant fix!  Took less then an hour to sew all the strips on the back side of this shower curtain.
